Unions meet Govt at LRC over public sector pay

Last ditch efforts to reach an agreement on public sector pay will resume today with unions and Government representatives meeting at the Labour Relations Commission.

Last ditch efforts to reach an agreement on public sector pay will resume today with unions and Government representatives meeting at the Labour Relations Commission.

Both sides met late into the night and anticipate another long night of talks.

Central to the discussions is the issue of reversing paycuts imposed in last year's Budget as well as the need to find savings within the public sector.
