Matthew Blinkhorn scored a hat-trick as league leaders Sligo crushed bottom side Galway at Terryland Park this evening.
It was troubled Galway's 17th successive league defeat as the crisis at the cash-strapped westerners deepens.
Topscorer Eoin Doyle topped and tailed the rout with goals in the fifth and 86th minutes.
Skipper Richie Ryan got Sligo's second with a powerful shot on 16 minutes before goals from Raffaele Cretaro, on 33 minutes, and Blinkhorn, with his first four minutes later, ended the game as a contest.
In between the latter goals, Galway had midfielder Eduardo sent off for a second booking.
Blinkhorn got his second of the game a minute before the interval before completing his hat-trick on 74 minutes from full back Alan Keane's cross.
John Dillon's shot deflected off Paul Sinnott for an own goal to add the seventh on 77 minutes with Doyle getting his second four minutes from time to complete the rout.
