Pensioner's arrest relates to 'number of sex assaults'

A man in his 70's is still being questioned by gardaí in Co Louth as part of an investigation into claims of sexual assault in Drogheda.

A man in his 70's is still being questioned by gardaí in Co Louth as part of an investigation into claims of sexual assault in Drogheda.

He was arrested in Dublin city centre this morning by gardaí from Drogheda.

The allegations relate to a number of sexual assaults in the Drogheda area a number of years ago.

The man is being questioned at Drogheda garda station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, where he can be held for up to 24 hours.
