Harrison out for revenge on Medina

Scott Harrison today warned Manuel Medina that he is so hungry for revenge against the WBO featherweight champion that he has shut himself away from the rest of his family in the north of Scotland.

The veteran Mexican left the Scot’s world title dreams in tatters with a shock points victory at the Braehead Arena in July.

But the Glaswegian fighter has already returned to his training camp in the barren mountains of Fort William with his father Peter ahead of the rematch on November 29.

Harrison said: “Revenge is motivating me to win this fight.

“I want to get back the respect and adulation that being a World Champion brings.

“Medina not only took my pride he also took my status as champion and the money I would have earned. Now I want to get it all back.

“The public and fans who saw me against Medina that night know that that was not the real Scott Harrison in the ring.

“That was not the same Scott Harrison that beat Julio Pablo Chacon to win the title and then defend it against Wayne McCullough.

“I am 100% focused on beating Medina and getting my belt back to become world champion once again.

“I have already been in the training camp for three weeks preparing for the rematch. It is totally isolated and away from everything.

“I do not want to let anything get in the way of my preparations and have separated myself from my family to fully focus on the fight ahead.

“I am not expecting an easy night but I know what I am up against and will do the job this time. Revenge will be sweet.”

The winner of the encounter will have to make a mandatory defence against the American William Abelyan within 90 days.
