Ryder Cup to take place at K Club in 2006

The 2006 Ryder Cup will be held from the 22nd to the 24th of September at the K Club in County Kildare.

The event is expected to attract 40,000 people on each of the three days.

Announcing details, Minister John O Donoghue said hosting the Ryder Cup brings great benefits to Ireland in terms of increased tourism and national prestige.

Around 200,000 golf tourists visit Ireland annually, generating revenue of nearly €200m.
