Sinead explains her face tattoos

Ye might not have realised that Sinead O'Connor was seen in the UK over the weekend sporting a couple of tattoos on her face.

They consisted of the letters 'B' and 'Q' and fans were wondering what they stood for (No they weren't a crass marketing campaign by the DIY chain).

Well, Sinead has posted an explanation on her website which goes something like this:

Brendan Quinlan.. “It’s what it is”.. Un ange passe ; )

There’s a bottle of Agent Provocateur in someone’s room that

Belongs to me.

A quick Google search of 'Un ange passe' reveals that it's French for 'An awkward silence' (feel free to correct this), so we can see the relevance of the phrase.

According to The Irish Sun, Brendan Quinlan is a mystery man who Sinead said "wrecked her life".

Apparently she admitted: "It was suitably painful."

Here they are in their full glory at Bestival on the Isle of Wight last Friday.

Inevitably, the twitterati were soon at it with the clever comments.
