Gerard Houllier has insisted Liverpool would not allow the three-game ban handed to Steven Gerrard to destroy their season.

Gerrard was found guilty of violent conduct by the FA in relation to a two-footed tackle on Everton's Gary Naysmith during the Merseyside derby clash at Anfield on December 22.

Houllier is far from happy with the outcome of a disciplinary hearing at the Reebok Stadium.

"I don't want to refer to other cases when the same sanctions were not applied, I can't say what I really feel. We won't let things destroy us," he said.
