Poll shows teens braver than dads

Dads are most likely to avoid going on a theme park ride.

Dads are most likely to avoid going on a theme park ride.

In a poll conducted at Britain's Thorpe Park: the nation's Thrill Capital revealed the most popular excuses by fathers include, "I'll stay here and keep your mum company", "someone needs to stay with the bags" and "I'm far too tall, fat, short for this ride".

The theme park also enlisted the services of thrillologist Brendan Walker to carry out a number of noise-related bravery tests on dads and their teenage children who went on Thorpe Park's Colossus rollercoaster.

Fathers screamed out an average 14.5 times on the ride, but the teenagers were not as scared, yelling out just 13 times.

Brendan said: "Bravery levels peak in your teens which could explain why kids were braver than their dads.

"By the time you hit 19 years old, you are at the stage in the life where you are most willing to take risks and explore new challenges."
