Three children among dead refugees
Gardai tonight said three children - not two as earlier reported - were among the eight refugees who died in the freight container.
Confirmation of the toll came as gardai completed the task of removing the bodies from the container.
The dead included a boy aged around four and a boy and girl, both aged around 10 or 11 years, as well as a woman and four men.
The five survivors, a woman and four men, with ages ranging between 17 and 35 years, were said to be ‘‘very serious’’.
