Former civil servant Paddy Teahon is due back before the Dáil’s public accounts committee today to answer further questions about the controversy surrounding the aquatic centre in west Dublin.

Yesterday, Mr Teahon was forced to resign as chairman and chief executive of Campus Stadium Ireland over the controversy, although he still insisted he had done nothing wrong.

The public accounts committee has quizzed Mr Teahon on three occasions already, but it only saw the Attorney General’s report into the scandal when it was finally published yesterday.

The report concluded that the dormant nature of one of the companies involved in the aquatic centre should have raised alarm bells and that no excuse was offered for Mr Teahon’s failure to communicate this to the board of Campus Stadium Ireland and the Government.
