Rival publishers are to bid for the right to publish Kurt Cobain's memoirs.
His widow Courtney Love has put the 800-page manuscript up for auction.
The autobiography has been compiled by Love from 23 notebooks left by the late Nirvana singer.
In them, he writes about his desperation to become famous, his liking for heroin and his depression, reports The Times.
There are also romantic letters to Love and other women, as well as his suicide note, written in red ink and addressed to her.
Other documents include a letter sacking Nirvana's first drummer and a list of rules of how Cobain expected other band members to behave.
Bidding for the manuscript is expected to run into millions of dollars.
