David Coulthard will have the latest technology at his disposal as he bids for an improved performance next season after McLaren-Mercedes expanded its partnership with Computer Associates.
The team will be provided with technology which will protect the vital on-track computer systems that are used to transmit data from the pits to the cockpit.
Team engineers will also be able to use the system to analyse data in real time and feed it back live to drivers Coulthard and Kimi Raikkonen.
“Formula One is the ultimate proving ground for a company like Computer Associates as borders are constantly moving and technology is pushed to the limit,” said McLaren boss Ron Dennis.
“I’m certain that we have only been scratching the surface of the enormous benefits our partnership can bring to the team.”
