Dolphin toast perfect end to perfect season

Dolphin completed the perfect season in Div 2 of the All Ireland League with a 29-19 victory over Old Crescent at Lansdowne Road.

Dolphin completed the perfect season in Div 2 of the All Ireland League with a 29-19 victory over Old Crescent at Lansdowne Road.

Dolphin, who gained the automatic promotion spot to Div 1 for next season led by 17 points to seven at half time.

The winners had tries from Eddie Knowles and Cpt Dave Pomeroy in the first half.

Old Crescent came within a point of their opponents with 17 minutes left thanks to a well-worked try by PJ McLoughlin.

However, two late penalty goals from out-half John O'Mahony sealed Dolphin's victory in an exciting final played before a sparse attendance.
