Sunday’s meeting at Stratford has been abandoned due to a waterlogged track.

Clerk of the course Stephen Lambert was forced to call a 1pm inspection after the River Avon burst its banks on Tuesday, leaving some parts of the track under water.

Lambert brought forward the planned check on Thursday though, as conditions had not improved enough to race.

He said: “We have had to abandon. It’s improved a bit but there are still areas of waterlogging and some nasty patches of ground.

“Unfortunately the meeting was due to end our season and we don’t race again until March now.”
