300 jobs hanging in balance at Meath electronics plant

There are fears for the future of several hundred jobs at an electronics plant in Co Meath today.

There are fears for the future of several hundred jobs at an electronics plant in Co Meath today.

The Japanese firm NEC Semiconductors has called an emergency meeting of staff at the plant in Ballivor this afternoon to outline its plans for the future.

More than 300 people are currently employed at the factory, which has been in operation for 30 years.
