FF makes airport boards election pledge

Fianna Fail has pledged to create separate boards at Cork and Shannon airports if returned to power after the general election.

Fianna Fail has pledged to create separate boards at Cork and Shannon airports if returned to power after the general election.

At present, Aer Rianta controls the three main airports, including Dublin.

However, speaking at the launch of Aer Arann's new Dublin-Shannon service, Public Enterprise Minister Mary O'Rourke said she believes separate boards should be created to cater for local interests.
