The Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, has agreed to reconvene the Dáil next week to discuss the findings of the High Court report into alleged tax evasion through the Ansbacher Bank in the Cayman Islands.

The Dail was due to rise for summer recess this week, but the Ansbacher report won’t be published until Tuesday.

The opposition requested that TDs take their recess later this year to facilitate a debate on the report and Mr Ahern agreed.

Around 200 leading businessmen are believed to be named as Ansbacher account holders in the report.
