Irish exporters are being told that a yes vote in the Nice Treaty Referendum will lead to the opening of new markets in Eastern Europe.

Irish exporters are being told that a yes vote in the Nice Treaty Referendum will lead to the opening of new markets in Eastern Europe.

The Minister for Transport has told a meeting of the Exporters Association that Irish exports to Hungary, Poland and the Czech Republic have increased sevenfold over the last decade.

Seamus Brennan says the Nice Treaty represents a golden opportunity to capitalise on this and penetrate new markets.
