The ISEQ index was up 18.08 points at 5210.72 after morning trading.
The country’s two scandal-ridden banks performed well, with AIB showing an increase of 26c, or 2.24%, to €11.86, and Bank of Ireland also up, 36c or 3.61%, at €10.05.
Irish Life & Permanent was down 5c at €12.40 at 10.30am, while Anglo Irish Bank was static at €13.00.
Business support company DCC was down 20c, 1.5%, at €13.15, while Fyffes was unchanged at €12.40 ahead of today’s AGM.
The London market is closed for a bank holiday in the UK.
