One million to travel through Aer Rianta airports

More than one million passengers will travel through Dublin, Cork and Shannon Airports between Saturday December 20 and Tuesday January 6, according to Aer Rianta.

More than one million passengers will travel through Dublin, Cork and Shannon Airports between Saturday December 20 and Tuesday January 6, according to Aer Rianta.

Dublin Airport will handle over 900,000 passengers, a 5% increase over the same period last year.

Sunday will be the busiest day in terms of passengers returning home for the Christmas season with over 30,000 inbound passengers.

More than 77,000 passengers are expected through Cork Airport during this time, 16% up on last year.

Shannon Airport is predicting a busy time with over 95,000 passengers traveling, up 5% over Christmas 2002.
