The Clarion Hotels group has bought The Holiday Inn at Dublin Airport in a €38m deal that includes a refurbishment plan for the hotel.

Clarion will operate the property as a four-star hotel - the sixth hotel in the group and its first acquisition.

The renovation programme will start shortly, but the 247-bedroom hotel will remain fully operational during it, Clarion said today, adding that the 200 full and part-time staff will not be affected by the acquisition.

Earlier this year Clarion Hotels opened Hotels in Cork, Sligo and Liffey Valley.
