Taoiseach says new Dublin jobs are positive sign

The Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, has said he believes that the announcement of 250 new jobs in Dublin today signals a small upturn on the employment front.

The Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, has said he believes that the announcement of 250 new jobs in Dublin today signals a small upturn on the employment front.

Speaking at the Oracle plant, where the jobs are based, Mr Ahern said there has been positive news for the beleaguered IT sector in the past month.

However, he did admit that there will probably be more job losses announced in the coming months.
