North Korea today pulled out of a global treaty that bars it from making nuclear weapons, and warned of the chance of a “Third World War”.
The rogue state’s communist regime said it had quit the Nuclear Non-proliferation Treaty because of US aggression, but said it had no plans to build any nuclear weapons “at this stage”.
But, chillingly, it warned that a “new Korean War will finally lead to the Third World War” and, said Pyongyang, would triumph in any “fire-to-fire stand-off” with its American enemies.
The withdrawal from the treaty was partly symbolic. North Korea already violated it by secretly pursuing weapons development and flouting UN safeguards.
