Llanelli skipper Scott Quinnell has had a piece of bone removed from his left kneecap and is expected to be out for between six to eight weeks.

‘‘Scott will be off his feet for two weeks before starting pool recovery work,’’ said Llanelli chief executive Stuart Gallacher.

‘‘It’s important for Scott’s peace of mind that he is given the chance to fully recover from the operation and then regain full fitness before he plays again. The club will give him all the support he requires to make a full and speedy recovery,’’ he added.

Llanelli are in Conference One of the Celtic League with Leinster and Ulster.
