A publisher sued MC Hammer for return of a $61,000 advance on a book on fatherhood it says he never delivered.
New York-based Simon and Schuster spokesman Adam Rothberg said the book was due in 2003, and “we never received the manuscript”.
The one-page lawsuit was filed March 5.
It seeks $61,000, plus interest.
The publisher said the rapper signed a contract in 2002 under his real name, Stanley Kirk Burrell, and received the advance for a book entitled Enemies of the Father: Messages from the Heart on Being a Family Man.
