Perry's dad praises Brand

Katy Perry's dad has praised his new son-in-law Russell Brand.

Keith Hudson – who is a Christian pastor – has confessed he couldn't have wished for a better son-in-law than the British comedian, as he makes Katy "so happy".

He told gossip website Radar Online: "I could not have wished for a better son-in-law in Russell. He makes my girl so happy. She's so happy and he makes her light up. They're going to be just fine.

"You couldn't see two happier people."

However, the 'Firework' singer's parents haven't always been so complimentary of the former heroin addict.

Katy's mother Mary recently urged Russell to "go towards the light" and find God.

She said: "Russell must go towards the light and not toward the darkness. Only God can take the very worst person and turn them around for good.

"You just have to see how the Lord's will is done. I mean, how many times have your kids disappointed you so profoundly you wanted to get up from the chair and knock them out?"

The couple – who got engaged last December after a whirlwind three-month romance – tied the knot at the luxury Aman-i-Khas resort in Rajasthan, India on October 23.
