It is hoped today's Leaving Cert examinations pass off without incident after students at 16 schools in South County Dublin received their accountancy paper with some pages missing yesterday.

The State Examinations Commission has apologised for the error which left candidates without four of the eight pages of the exam.

The mistake effected more than 200 higher level candidates.

Students were given extra time to complete the paper, once the school received the missing pages.

Teachers said the latest blunder to hit the state exams caused confusion and was unfair to all students.

This morning, students across the country will sit papers in Spanish and Chemistry.
