No fresh injuries for Munster ahead of derby

The Munster medical team have reported no fresh injury concerns ahead on Saturday’s RaboDirect PRO12 interprovincial clash with Connacht at the Sportsground (5.15pm).

The positive injury news provides something of a silver lining for Rob Penney and his coaching staff who saw their team slip to third in Pool 1 after Sunday’s Heineken Cup defeat to Saracens.

Felix Jones, who was replaced by Luke O’Dea in Vicarage Road, suffered nothing more than a dead leg and was in attendance at training this morning in UL as were Tommy O'Donnell and Denis Hurley whose return to action is imminent.

Sean Dougall also took a full part after a return to action last Friday in the British & Irish Cup game against his former club, a game in which Barry O'Mahony sustained a groin injury.

Keith Earls took no part in the session this morning as he rehabs a groin injury while Niall Ronan has resumed non contact training.

Internationals such as Conor Murray, Donnacha Ryan and Peter O'Mahony will not be involved in Galway this weekend on account of the national player management schedule.
