14 killed as Bangladesh bus plunges into canal

A speeding bus plunged into a canal outside the Bangladeshi capital today, leaving 14 people dead and about 25 others injured.

A speeding bus plunged into a canal outside the Bangladeshi capital today, leaving 14 people dead and about 25 others injured.

The bus was travelling to Dhaka from the nearby town of Savar when it lost control, said Forman Ali, a police official at Savar.

Police divers were searching the sunken bus for survivors.
