Limerick gardaí investigate after body found in river

Gardaí at Henry St in Limerick City are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a man's body in the Abbey River this morning.

Gardaí at Henry St in Limerick City are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a man's body in the Abbey River this morning.

The body of the man, who is believed to be in his 30s, was removed from the river to Arthur’s Quay park shortly after 8pm.

The remains have been taken to the Mid-Western Regional Hospital where a post-mortem examination will be carried out later.
