Two people are recovering in hospital after they were injured in separate incidents in north Clare this afternoon.

A man in his 50’s was airlifted to hospital after he was injured in a fall on a farm.

An ambulance and rapid response advanced paramedic unit responded to the incident.

After reaching the scene and assessing the injured man, paramedics decided that the patient should be airlifted to hospital for treatment.

The Emergency Aeromedical Service (EAS) air ambulance was requested to undertake the airlift of the man to University Hospital Galway.

Earlier, the Doolin unit of the Irish Coast Guard was called into recover a woman who was injured in a fall on a cliff trail.

The woman had been taking a trail when she lost her footing north of O’Brien’s Tower at the Cliffs of Moher.

Coast Guard volunteers transported the casualty to the cliffs visitor centre where an ambulance crew was waiting.

She was taken by road ambulance to University Hospital Galway for treatment for a leg injury.
