Minister Gormley hopes Bertie Ahern's resignation will mean that the focus can now turn to his party's policies.

He says he can work well with the next Taoiseach Brian Cowen - but admits his party's position is something of a surprise as he didn’t expect to be in power with Fianna Fáil.
