Controversial Donegal chairman Danny Harkin is to run again for the position despite a motion of no confidence being passed against him.

Harkin has been critical of his county's handling of internal problems as well as going public in espousing a pay-for-play package.

But he said: "I've served only one year, so I will be putting my name forward again at the county convention where there will be approximately 140 delegates.

"I'm a very committed democrat, and I have no axe to grind."
