The Irish Farmers Association has urged Agriculture Minister Joe Walsh to name companies which import foreign beef into Ireland.
Around 13% of the beef currently consumed in Ireland is imported from abroad, accounting for 8,500 tonnes each year.
The IFA claimed this is damaging the Irish beef industry and said consumers should demand Irish beef in shops and restaurants.
