The ISEQ continued to perform well today, closing up 54.97 points at 5321.71.
Pharmaceutical company Elan didn’t disappoint, climbing €1.00, or 6.3%, to close at €16.90, with most of the increase coming about in morning trading.
It was generally a good day for the financials, with Anglo Irish Bank closing up 21c, or 1.6%, at €13.20.
AIB closed up 16c at €12.59, with Bank of Ireland also gaining, closing up 9c at €10.68.
Irish Life & Permanent, however, was down 5c at €12.35 at close of play.
It was a good day in the construction sector also, with Heiton closing up 20c (3.3%) at €6.30, and CRH showing a gain of 12c to end the day at €18.20.
Trinity Biotech announced results for the quarter to end June this year. While revenues were up, gross profits were down. This was reflected in a drop in share price to €2.40, down 18c.
Kerry was also a loser, down 12c to finish at €17.20.
