The IDA is playing down fears about a spate of recent job losses at foreign multinationals in Ireland.
In its latest annual report, the authority says the number of jobs in multinational firms operating in Ireland rose by 3% last year, despite the recent high-profile redundancies.
It says this shows that jobs are still being created faster than they are being lost and that Ireland is continuing to compete strongly on the international stage.
The IDA also says that the new multinational jobs tend to be higher-paid than many of those that are being shed.
