German police are investigating a man for sending a package to Ireland, which sparked an anthrax scare.

German police are investigating a man for sending a package to Ireland, which sparked an anthrax scare.

Gardai are still awaiting test results from Britain but they are working on the assumption that all of the alerts were either sparked by innocent mistakes or by elaborate hoaxes.

Anyone found guilty of deliberately sparking scares could face up to a year in prison.
