DJ Carey is line to make a sensational return to first-team action with Kilkenny against Tipperary on Sunday week.

Just weeks after writing off the rest of the year because of a litany of injuries the full-forward colossus is back training and flying again.

Kilkenny boss Brian Cody confirmed that he would consider the Young Ireland's man for selection ahead of the All-Ireland semi-final against champions Tipperary at Croke Park.

Carey was the Hurler of the Year in 2000 but a car crash last Autumn forced him to miss the whole of this year's NHL campaign.
