This afternoon’s meeting at Hexham has been given the go-ahead after a dry night in Northumberland.

Clerk of the course Jonnie Fenwicke-Clennell scratched plans for an 8am precautionary inspection as conditions improved sufficiently for racing to go ahead as scheduled.

Hexham’s meeting had earlier in the week been in jeopardy after the track was hit by 12mm of rainfall on Thursday night.

The going is heavy, with the six-race card set to commence at 2.30pm.
