A militant group ambushed and killed 11 people today, including seven soldiers, in India’s remote North-East.

A militant group ambushed and killed 11 people today, including seven soldiers, in India’s remote North-East.

The militants opened fire on two vehicles carrying railway workers and the soldiers guarding them, said Assam state police chief DN Dutt.

Several militant groups fighting for the rights of ethnic minorities operate in the area.
