Motorists in Dublin are facing further disruption due to the latest upgrade of the capital's M50 motorway.

The work is aimed at transforming the N4 Lucan interchange into a "free-flowing" junction where traffic can move continuously.

Reports this morning say the M50 will be closed between the interchange's twin bridges for around four nights between now and Christmas as part of the changes.

Major traffic diversions will also be put in place for several months while the upgrade is completed.

Details of these diversions are due to be announced by South Dublin County Council later this morning.
