Nine-time All-Star DJ Carey has not ruled out a possible return to Kilkenny colours for this summer's Guinness Leinster and All-Ireland senior hurling championships.
The Young Irelands stalwart, who has not lined out for the Cats since last August's epic All-Ireland SHC semi-final defeat to Galway, has admitted he is "just too busy to play at the moment".
Carey has trained just once with his club this season, having been busy with various charity events - he embarked on a 120-mile trek in Cuba in October for the Irish Heart Foundation - and his current presidency of the Gaelic Players Association.
Speaking to the Kilkenny People, the 35-year-old said: "I haven't done anything yet. I haven't closed the door on the inter-county scene. I have just been too busy to get involved.
"Workwise I am just too busy to play at the moment. I can't do anything about that."
