The Criminal Assets Bureau has seized property and cash worth more than €275,000 from two members of a Traveller gang in Co Kildare.

Andrew Wall, 34, and his wife Ellen were part of a gang that carried out a spate of robberies, targeting mainly elderly people in rural areas.

The High Court gave CAB the go-ahead to seize the couple's house at Piercetown in Newbridge along with cash, a car and an 18-carat diamond ring.

The court also heard that during a search of the house in 2007 a receipt for €8,000 from Clane General Hospital for cosmetic surgery on Ellen Wall's nose was found.
