A man is recovering in hospital following a serious assault in Navan overnight.

A man is recovering in hospital following a serious assault in Navan overnight.

The assault happened on Market Square in the town shortly after 4am.

He sustained serious head injuries and is receiving treatment in Beaumont Hospital, Dublin.
