Jenson Button has given his backing to this year’s British Grand Prix, promising to “give something back to the fans”.
The Englishman has agreed to drive three fans around Silverstone in a Honda sports car at the British Grand Prix weekend, with every ticket-holder entered into a draw to determine the winner.
Honda driver Button said: “The British Grand Prix is always a very special occasion for me. It’s my home race and I have such fantastic support from the British fans.
“I’m feeling great ahead of what should be a strong season for the Honda team and we’ll be going to every race with the objective of challenging for wins.
“That will certainly be the case at Silverstone, which is a race I would love to win in front of such a huge home crowd. It would be such an incredible feeling.
“In the meantime, I’m glad to give something back to the fans together with Silverstone and I look forward to thrilling the three lucky winners with a hot lap of the circuit in a Honda sports car.”
