Gardaí name fire tragedy victim

Gardai have named the man who died in a house fire in Cork earlier this morning.

Gardai have named the man who died in a house fire in Cork earlier this morning.

He was Mark Hutchinson, aged 18, from Crossogue, Bantry.

An investigation has now been launched into what caused the blaze.

It is understood that the fire started in the upstairs part of a house at Turner's Cross just after 4am.

Another teenager who was also in the house at the time is now described as comfortable.

He was brought to Cork University hospital after suffering from smoke inhalation.
