Rising Cross is likely to take in the Group Two GNER Park Hill Stakes at York after disappointing in America last time out.
John Best's talented filly, runner-up in the Epsom Oaks and third to Alexandrova in the Irish equivalent on her penultimate start, trailed home last of 10 runners in the Grade One Beverly D Stakes earlier this month.
Best felt the sharp 10-furlong trip and the firm ground at Arlington were responsible for Rising Cross’ no-show on that occasion.
The three-year-old came out of the race unscathed, however, and has now been pencilled in for the one-mile-six-furlong contest on the Knavesmire on September 8.
“She’s fine and she’s probably going to run in the Park Hill Stakes,” confirmed the Maidstone handler.
“There’s another race in Longchamp on Arc day over one mile, four furlongs and we are also considering the possibility of supplementing her for the German St Leger.
“But if I was to make a guess at the moment, I would say the Park Hill is the option. It was too short for her on that ground in Arlington as she ideally wants decent ground over that trip. But she’s come out of it really well and taken everything that comes with that superbly.”
