Jodie Mogford has been handed an eight-day ban by Britain's Jockey Club Disciplinary Committee after being found guilty of misuse of the whip.

Mogford was given the suspension after an enquiry into his ride on Ambleside in the Tim Forster Cup (Handicap Chase) at Wincanton on January 19.

The British Jockey Club Disciplinary Committee considered video evidence from the race but judged that Mogford had used his whip with excessive frequency which resulted in the gelding being injured.

His ban will run from February 7-15.
