Paul Caffrey has yet to decide whether he will stay on as Dublin manager after yesterday's All-Ireland semi-final defeat to Kerry brought an end to his three-year-term in charge of the Dubs.
Caffrey would not be drawn on the subject in the immediate aftermath of the game which resulted in Dublin's third All-Ireland semi-final defeat in as many years.
The Na Fianna clubman was disappointed not to get another crack at Kerry after an extremely close second half which saw the Kingdom break away at the finish.
"Disappointed wouldn't aptly cover how we feel, it's a heartbroken and devastated dressing room," he said.
Caffrey felt that his side gave their all for their county and that they were unfortunate not to get something out of the game.
"They have been great ambassadors for Dublin football this year and they put everything into it and I thought they left everything out there on the pitch today.
"It's not about five minute spells but about the whole 70 minutes plus and we were right in there until the end and that's the heartbreaking tale for us.
"We came up short in the end and Kerry were better on the day," he added.
Centre-forward Alan Brogan was full in his praise for his manager and he believes that Caffrey will be back for more next season.
"He is a fantastic manager and I don't think his job is finished until he delivers that All-Ireland title," Brogan said.
"Hopefully the County Board will extend his contract or whatever they have to do. Like myself, I'm sure all of the players would like him to stick around."
