Clare hurling manager Davy Fitzgerald will remain in charge of the county’s hurlers for the foreseeable future.
Board chairman Michael McDonagh confirmed last night that Fitzgerald is to see out the remaining two years on his contract.

Fitzgerald was given a three-year extension following the county’s epic All-Ireland victory in 2013.
Clare have struggled at senior level since that triumph while a number of disciplinary issues have also occurred.

Critics of Fitzgerald will point to the enormous talent within the county following their four U21 All Ireland titles in six years.
